Easy hike in it
We did an easy trail hike on a cold Sunday and I wore this instead of my usual fleece. Was worried it would be to warm once we got moving but it was just right with a couple toggles undone. Got lots of nice photos too.
Hood runs a bit big
Hood is a little big on me and slides over my eyes sometimes when I look down. Not a dealbreaker, I just pin it back. Everything else fits great and it's really warm.
Heavier than I thought
It's heavier than I expected from the pictures. That's good for warmth, but for errands where I'm in and out of the car it can feel like a lot. For long walks and really cold days it's perfect. Fit is true to size.
Parade morning comfort
We go to the holiday parade every year and stake out a spot at seven in the morning. Usually I'm miserable by the time the floats show up. This year I wore this with a sweater and the hood up and I was actually comfortable for three hours. The toggles are easy to open and close even with mittens. My sister asked me for the link before the parade was even over.
Holiday market night
Went to a holiday market with my friends and we were out for hours walking between stalls. Everyone else was complaining about the cold and I was fine. I dripped a little hot cider down the front and it wiped off with a napkin, no mark. The inside pocket held my cash safely too. Felt cozy all evening and got a couple of compliments from strangers.
Soccer sideline mom
My daughter's soccer games go into November and the wind on those fields is brutal. I put the hood up and stand there for the whole game with a coffee. Other moms keep asking about it. Probably the most practical thing I bought this year.
Cabin weekend coat
Got it for my girlfriend before a weekend cabin trip. It was colder up there than we expected and she wore it pretty much the whole time, by the fire, on walks, even out on the porch at night. She said the hood was the best part. Size small fit her well. Shipping was fast, which mattered since I ordered late.
Cuff tabs are clever
Didn't think much about the little buttoned tabs on the cuffs until the first windy day. You can tighten them and no cold air gets up your arms. Small detail but I notice it every time. Coat fits well through the shoulders too.
School bus mornings
I drive a school bus and stand outside during morning checks in all kinds of weather. Needed something warm that I can move in. This lets me bend and climb steps without pulling at the shoulders. The hood is great in sleet and heavy wind. My regular kids have started calling it my storybook coat, which makes me laugh every single morning.
Bonfire night coat
Wore it to a backyard bonfire and stayed out until almost midnight. Woke up the next day and it smelled like smoke, so I hung it outside on the porch for an afternoon and that was the end of it. Still my favorite thing to throw on.
For my granddaughter
Bought this for my granddaughter before she left for college. She's going somewhere cold and I wanted her covered. She called to say thank you and told me her roommates are jealous. Small fit her right. Delivery was quick and the box arrived in good shape.
Solved the hat problem
Got this for my wife since she hates wearing hats. The hood solves that. She's worn it every day for two weeks straight and says the toggles are easier than buttons with gloves on.
Hood actually stays up
The hood actually stays up when the wind picks up, which my last coat never did. Big enough to fit over my messy bun too. Warm, comfy, no complants from me at all.
Teenager approved
Bought for my teenage daughter for Christmas. She's hard to shop for but she wore it to school the very next day. That's the best review I can give you from a dad.
Crossing guard approved
Bought this for my wife, she's a crossing guard and stands outside every morning and afternoon. She said it's the first coat that keeps the wind off her neck because of the hood. Fits her well in a medium. She already asked if I'd get her a second one.
Campus walks made easy
I'm a grad student and walk across campus between buildings all day. The hood means I don't have to carry an umbrella in light drizzle, and the flap pockets keep my keys from falling out when I sit. It's become my everyday coat.
Saves my curls
I hate hats because they flatten my hair, so I usually just freeze. The hood is roomy enough that it doesn't crush my curls and my ears stay warm. Sounds silly but that alone made this coat worth it for me.
Felt nostalgic
My mother bought me a toggle coat like this when I was about ten and I loved it. Ordering this as an adult felt a bit nostalgic. The quality is better than I remember that one being, and the lining is soft. Warm and comfortable for daily use.
Tree farm tradition
We go cut our own Christmas tree every year and I'm usually frozen by the time we find one. This year I was fine. Tramped around the field for over an hour. My husband took a photo of me with the tree and it's now my phone background.
Winter beach walks
My husband and I like walking on the beach in winter when it's empty. The wind off the water is no joke. I put the hood up, buttoned the cuff tabs, and the only cold part of me was my nose. Sand on the hem brushed right off once it dried. We're going back next weekend and I'm already looking forward to wearing it again.
