Warm without bulk

The thing that sold me is that it is warm without adding four inches to your outline. A padded jacket at this warmth makes you look twice your size. This sits close and still keeps the cold out down to about freezing with a jumper underneath. Below that I add a coat over it. For most of the winter that is not necessary at all.
Cuffs adjust properly

The cuffs have buttons with two positions rather than being fixed, so you can tighten them over a jumper sleeve or open them out over a watch. Small thing that almost nothing at this price bothers to include. It is the sort of detail you only notice once you have it.
Leather without leather

The stand collar and the zip give it the same attitude and the wool makes it warmer and a lot less stiff. Nobody has asked why I am not wearing leather because it does not read as a substitute.
Wears well with boots

Good with a hoodie under

Regular fit leaves genuine room for a hoodie underneath without the zip straining across the chest. That is how I wear it most of the time and it still closes properly and does not look stuffed at all. The zip runs clean with a jumper underneath as well.

Hem rides up

Really pleased overall, it fits well and looks good. The back is cut the same length as the front with no extra drop, so when you sit down the hem rides up and you end up sitting on the bottom of the zip. Standing up it is perfect. Nobody would notice but me, and now I notice it every time. It sits back down the moment you stand.
Collar stays up

Chest pockets are shallow

Good jacket and I wear it constantly. The two zip pockets on the chest look useful but they are barely deep enough for a card, never mind a phone. They are more of a design feature than storage. The side and inside ones are proper pockets. I keep a ticket in one and that is about the limit of it. Everything else about the jacket is right.
Pockets inside are deep

Bought for my husband and the detail he keeps mentioning is the two inside pockets. He can carry a phone and a wallet without either showing through the front or falling out when he leans forward. Apparently that is rare. He has counted them out to me more than once.
Wear it out at night

Zips are good quality

All five zips run properly, including the chest ones which on cheaper jackets are the first thing to jam. The main zip has a backing tape behind it so it does not catch on the lining. Somebody paid attention to that.
Zip pull is small

Solid jacket. The zip pull is on the small side and with gloves on in the cold I fumble it every time. A bigger tab would sort it. Everything else is right.
