A color that works
I've been reaching for this in the mornings. The color has enough character without needing patches or prints. That counts for a lot with me.
The collar shape
I wanted a break from my usual jackets. The standing collar gives the neck area a neat finish. It makes things easier in the morning.
Front seam detail
I didn't want a jacket that felt fussy. The vertical seam details make the front more interesting. Glad I didn't talk myself out of it.
The phone pocket
I wore it over my favorite old sweater. The inside phone pocket is a small detail I genuinely use. That made me smile a little.
Back seam detail
I paired mine with boots and dark jeans. The seams in the back keep it from feeling completely plain. I'm comfortable wearing it around town.
Soft suede texture
Wore it on a random weekday when I wasn't planning to dress up. It handled an ordinary day without needing any outfit planning. The faux suede has a soft texture that works with my older shirts. I like how olive goes with beige pants and old sneakers. I'm particular about comfort, so I noticed that immediately.
Pockets for a walk
I spent most of Saturday walking between stores and meeting up with friends. I didn't want a heavy layer that I would be carrying around. The side pockets sit comfortably for a quick walk outside. I do wish there were a little more space for bulky sweatshirts. Overall, I'm glad I decided to try it.
Comfortable lining
The collar was the first thing I checked when I looked in the mirror. It's the small details near my face that usually decide whether I keep a jacket. The soft lining is nice over cotton and flannel. The fabric picks up a little lint from my darker shirts. Overall, I'm glad I decided to try it.
Comfortable cuffs
The fit was the thing I was most unsure about while choosing my size. The cuffs sit well over a long sleeve shirt. The neck feels a bit snug when I zip it all the way.
Side pockets
I put it on for a relaxed evening. The side pockets are right where I expect them to be. I wasn't expecting to notice that.
No shiny finish
I wore it with the same old sneakers. The material has a matte look that isn't too shiny. It ended up being a good choice.
Easy front zipper
I wore it out for lunch rather than saving it for an occasion. The front zipper is easy to use when I'm heading out in a hurry. The sleeves run slightly long on my shorter arms.
Soft finish
I tried it with a completely different pair of pants the next morning. The finish makes the jacket look a little softer than canvas. Still, I would have liked the waist to sit a fraction lower.
Crewneck and zip front
I tried it over two different shirts to see what actually works. The zip front works with a plain crewneck underneath. That has made getting dressed a bit less annoying.
Open front fit
I brought it along for a quick weekend trip. The waist sits comfortably when I leave the front open. It was just what I needed.
A tidy front
I wore it on a fairly long drive over the weekend. The zipper keeps the front looking tidy without much effort. The overall look is relaxed, which is how I usually dress.
Light enough to carry
A friend noticed the jacket even though I was wearing my usual basic outfit. The light weight means I don't mind carrying it once indoors. Small things like that make a jacket pleasant to own.
Soft against the neck
When I first tried this on, I spent more time looking at the shape than the color. The fabric feels comfortable against the back of my neck. For me, that makes more difference than extra decoration.
Easy to slip off
I put it on for a coffee run that turned into a couple of hours out. I was comfortable moving from the sidewalk to a warm cafe. The lining makes it easy to slip off indoors. The muted green isn't as hard to match as I thought. The overall look is relaxed, which is how I usually dress.
Not too heavy
My usual outfit is plain, and this was a nice way to change things up. I prefer one interesting texture over a pile of accessories. The shape feels lighter than my usual winter jackets. The color works with the gray sweatshirts I wear all the time. I didn't have to think much about the rest of my outfit.
