More oxblood than brown
The color is a bit more reddish brown than the photos, almost oxblood in sunlight. I actually like it more but it caught me off guard. Fit, warmth and weight are all excellent. Four stars just for the color surprise. Glad I kept it.
Room in the shoulders
Finally an overcoat that fits my shoulders. I'm broad up top and most coats pull across the back, but this one has room to move and still looks tailored. The color is a deep chocolate, works with everything I own. Very happy.
Goes crazy honestly
Bro this coat goes crazy. I was on the fence because of the price but it looks way more expensive than it was. The wide collar and the epaulets give it that military look without being over the top. Wore it to a friend's birthday dinner with black turtleneck and boots and got hyped up all night. It's actually warm too, not just for looks. Already planning to cop it in another color.
actually warm
this thing is warm. like actually warm. wore it out when it was below freezing and didn't even need a scarf. looks clean too, got the medium, i'm 175 lbs and it fits right with a hoodie underneath, no complaints so far
Order early
Took nearly two weeks to arrive which was longer than I'd hoped. Support replied when I asked and gave me an updated date, which helped. The coat itself is excellent, heavy, well tailored and warm. Just order early if you need it by a certain day.
Uncles approved
Wore this to my cousin's wedding over a navy suit and it looked so classy in the photos. Kept me warm standing outside for the group shots. My uncles kept asking about it, one of them already ordered his own. Really happy with it.
Retirement gift for dad
Got this for my dad who's retiring this year. He always wanted a classic overcoat for going to the theatre and dinners out. He tried it on and said it made him feel like a gentleman from an old film. Fit was perfect in a large.
He was speechless
My husband has wanted a proper long overcoat for years but always said they were too expensive. I ordered this for our anniversary and he was genuinely speechless when he opened it. He's a big guy and I was nervous about sizing, but the chart was accurate and his usual size fits him perfectly through the shoulders. He wore it to dinner that night and kept checking himself out in every window we passed.
Solid construction
Solid construction. The stitching is even, the lining is properly attached, and the buttons are sewn on firmly. My only reservations are minor. It is heavy, which suits me in deep winter but would be too much on milder days, and the shade reads more burgundy than brown in some lights. Neither bothers me greatly. I've worn it to church and to the club for a month now and it still looks new.
Not costumey on me
Long overcoats always looked costume-y on me until this one. The shoulders are structured but not stiff and it reaches just past my knee. Wore it to a black tie dinner and a christening in the same month.
Only coat I needed
Took this on a business trip in the middle of winter and it was the only coat I needed. Long enough to keep my legs warm on early morning walks, smart enough for client dinners, and it hung up fine in hotel closets without creasing. The collar turned up blocks the wind really well. I got asked about it at a conference by a guy who said his tailor would charge three times as much.
Season two, still sharp
Bought this last winter and just pulled it out again. Still looks brand new, no pilling at the elbows, buttons all tight, shape hasn't sagged. I wear it pretty much daily from November to March so that says a lot about the quality.
Grandson was right
At 71 I'm a creature of habit and have worn navy overcoats my whole life. My grandson talked me into brown. He was right, it's distinguished and it keeps the cold out properly.
For his 40th
Bought this for my husband's 40th. He's a suit guy and his old overcoat was falling apart at the cuffs. He says this is warmer and the color suits him way better than black.
Engagement photo coat
Got this for my fiancé to wear at our engagement photos and he looked so handsome in it. The brown photographed beautifully against the autumn leaves. He's worn it nearly every day since and keeps saying it's the warmest coat he's had.
Shoulder button loose
The epaulets are a nice touch but one of the buttons on the shoulder came loose after a week. Took two minutes to stitch back. No big deal. Everything else is solid, warm and the cut is very flattering. Would still buy again.
Saw it on a buddy
A buddy at work showed up in this and I asked him about it the same day. Ordered the next morning. Fits me just as well and the quality is honestly better than the coats I've seen at the mall for twice the price. Glad I asked.
Heavy but warm
Good coat but heavy. Carrying it over my arm through an airport was a workout lol. Once it's on though you barely notice and it's very warm. Fit is spot on.
Too warm for the train
It's a handsome coat but too heavy for my daily commute on the train. I end up overheating and carrying it. Great for standing around outside or a cold weekend, less so for being in and out of heated places. Quality is fine.
Works on shorter guys
I'm on the shorter side at 5'7 and was worried a long coat would swallow me. It hits a bit below my knee which actually looks intentional. The double row of buttons and the structured shoulders make me look taller if anything. Pleasantly surprised.
