Manageable weight
Not as heavy as I’d expected. Easy to carry over my arm when the afternoon warms up.
She got the size right
My wife bought this for me after hearing me complain about my old jacket for months. I expected to need an exchange because sleeves are often an issue for me, but these finish comfortably at my wrists. I can reach forward without the whole thing pulling across my back. We removed the hood to try it both ways, and I honestly haven’t decided which version I prefer. Both have had a few outings already.
Suits my usual clothes
There’s a bit of character to the waxed finish that I really like. It doesn’t have that overly uniform appearance I was trying to avoid. Looks especially good with my old boots, and I don’t feel overdressed wearing it down the pub.
Didn’t save it for best
Bought it for my birthday. Been wearing it to the supermarket like that counts as an occasion.
One small preference
Nice jacket and the fit is right. I’m still getting used to having more pockets than my old one; keep checking the wrong side for my keys. Would prefer slightly shorter drawstrings, but that’s a personal thing rather than a real problem.
Good everyday fastening
The YKK zip feels reassuringly solid. Easy to get started, too, even when I’m rushing out the door.
Worth the suitcase space
Packed it for a weekend away and wore it more than the other layer I brought. With a thin knit underneath, I was comfortable walking around during the evening. Next day I wore it open over a tee. Having pockets inside meant I could keep a couple of small things separate instead of emptying everything out whenever I wanted my keys. A practical choice for how I travel.
Getting plenty of use
Wasn’t sure about a bomber shape because I normally wear longer jackets. This sits well with straight jeans and doesn’t overwhelm me. I’ve ended up reaching for it on ordinary errands, which is usually how I know a purchase has worked out.
Comfortable against a tee
Soft lining, no scratchy feeling through a thin T-shirt. That matters more to me than another fancy detail.
Prefer it without the hood
Overall, I’m pleased with it. The hood is useful on a breezy walk, but I prefer the way the jacket sits without it when I’m wearing a collared shirt. My only niggle is getting the lining of my shirt straight underneath after rushing to put it on. Once adjusted, it’s comfortable. The zip has been smooth so far, including when I’m doing it up in a hurry.
Measurements helped
Checked the measurements against a jacket I already had and went with my usual size. Shoulders sit where they should, and the hem doesn’t feel awkward when I sit down. Glad I measured instead of guessing from the photos.
Passed!
My partner noticed it before I’d even taken my shoes off. Apparently I’m allowed to choose clothes again.
My evening jacket
Bought this for evenings when a shirt isn’t enough but my winter coat feels excessive. It’s filled that gap nicely. The leather feels soft against my wrists, and I can sit outside for a bit without immediately wanting to head home.
Useful phone pocket
Finally somewhere inside to put my phone. Much nicer than having it knock about in a trouser pocket.
Works for my commute
I spend a fair bit of my commute sitting down, and some jackets bunch awkwardly around my middle. This one has been comfortable on the train with the zip partly open. The lining slides over my work shirts without pulling the sleeves up, which I appreciate more than I expected. I take the hood off during the week and usually leave it attached on Saturdays.
Better with lighter layers
Fits nicely through the body, but the sleeves get snug over my thickest hoodie. A normal sweatshirt is absolutely fine. With the removable hood already there, doubling up on bulky layers probably wasn’t my brightest idea anyway.
Stayed on all morning
Wore it over a tee to grab coffee. Comfortable enough that I kept it on indoors.
Easy colour to wear
Most of my jackets are black, so this was a bit of a change for me. The olive works surprisingly well with the jeans and boots I already own. Haven’t had to buy anything else to make an outfit out of it.
Nice unboxing moment
That leather smell when I opened it was lovely. Not overpowering, and much less noticeable after a day.
Needed a few wears
A little stiff across the elbows straight out of the box, which had me wondering whether I’d picked the wrong size. After a few evenings wearing it around, that eased up. There’s enough room for my usual jumper, although a really chunky one makes bending my arms less comfortable. I’d stick with the same size; it fits properly over what I normally wear.
