For everyday wear
I like the cafe racer shape, though I don't wear it for actual riding protection. There's enough detail at the shoulders that I don't feel like adding anything else.
Waist tabs help
The waist tabs made more difference to the fit than I initially thought. I'd rather have this soft lining than an unlined leather jacket. My charcoal shirts look good beside the warm wax marks.
A little color variation
The waxed areas make the black look less uniform, and I'm fine with that. I can put my phone away without making my jeans pockets bulky. The lighter areas make it feel less like a plain black jacket.
Shoulder details are subtle
I was surprised the shoulder epaulets weren't as noticeable as I'd expected. Those little waist tabs mean I can adjust the fit over a thinner shirt. My first outfit with it was completely unplanned, but I liked the result enough to wear almost the same thing again. The camel wax marks look warm against the black leather.
Boots and a henley
I tried this with an old henley and boots before even removing the tags. The shoulder epaulets add detail without making the jacket look crowded. Those worn-looking patches change a bit with the light.
Useful inside storage
Two inside pockets are a relief when my pants pockets are already full. The buttoned cuffs stay in place when I reach for the steering wheel. I'd choose this over a perfectly solid black finish again.
Wax marks look good
The camel wax looks almost like warm scuffing against the darker leather. The front zipper is easy to use and doesn't need much fussing. My brother thought it had been in my closet for years. The best part for me is not having to switch jackets when I go from a quick errand to meeting someone afterward.
Dinner with a crewneck
I kept this over a gray crewneck for dinner and didn't feel overdressed. The shape looks good with a plain white shirt and dark denim. It has a broken-in appearance before I've worn it much.
Pocket expectations
This isn't one of those jackets I have to plan a whole outfit around. The chest pockets are better for flat things than a phone.
Looks good open
I like leaving the front open so the inside shirt is still visible. The leather moves with my arms without that stiff cardboard feeling. The collar doesn't get in the way when I turn my head.
More weathered in daylight
I've had leather jackets with collars that press into my chin all afternoon. The inside lining is smooth, so slipping it on over a flannel isn't a chore. I wish the waist tabs had one more adjustment position. There's no need for a pile of badges or patches. The uneven color is exactly why I chose this version.
Almost what I wanted with the black with camel wax version
My brown work boots looked surprisingly good next to the camel wax highlights. The real leather has a softer hand feel than I expected from the pictures. A thick hoodie makes the shoulders feel a little close. The shape works nicely with straight-leg jeans and a henley. The camel wax marks look warm against the black leather.
Snap cuffs were a plus
The snap cuffs seem more practical to me than another row of zippers. It sits comfortably while I'm driving, which was a pleasant surprise. I noticed the camel tones most on a sunny afternoon.
Brother noticed it
I went out with my brother and he immediately noticed the shoulder tabs. The distressed finish is visible without making the whole jacket look faded. The waxed finish works well with my old brown boots.
Soft at the elbows
The leather feels softer across the elbows than another jacket I tried recently. The stand collar gives the front some shape when the zipper is halfway up. The button cuffs feel easier to manage than the zippers on my old coat. I used the lower zip pockets for my keys and kept my wallet inside.
Better in daylight
The jacket looked different under my kitchen light than it did on the porch. The camel-toned marks show up more outside than under dim indoor lighting. The uneven color is exactly why I chose this version.
A small fit issue
The four outside pockets sounded like more than I would ever need. The button cuffs feel easier to manage than the zippers on my old coat. The wax marks show more outside than I had imagined.
Not plain black
I wanted a black leather jacket that already had a bit of worn color on it. I keep small things in the chest pockets and use the lower ones for keys.
Comfortable ribbed collar
The rib-knit stand collar is a welcome change from stiff leather at my neck. The waist adjustment helps the hem sit closer when I'm not layering. The camel wax marks look warm against the black leather.
Good for a barbecue
I wore it to a neighborhood barbecue and left the collar unfastened. The stand collar gives the front some shape when the zipper is halfway up. I like that the black still dominates the overall color.
