Those contrast sleeves
The color-blocked sleeves are what made me stop scrolling through jackets. The striped cuffs and hem give it that old-school varsity feeling without big lettering. The light brown body is great with white and cream tops.
Nice sleeve contrast
The contrast between the body and sleeves is a fun detail in person. My hair doesn't get tangled in the ribbed collar, which is a relief.
My weekend jacket
My niece called this my weekend jacket before I had even worn it outside. The snaps are straightforward to fasten when I'm leaving in a hurry. Friends noticed the sleeves before they noticed the body color.
The faux suede body
The soft faux suede body looks quite different from a regular cotton varsity jacket. The polyester lining helps it slide on without twisting the shirt beneath it. The lighter body makes the contrasting sleeves more noticeable.
Quick trip jacket
I wore it for a quick airport pickup and it was comfortable in the car. The low side pockets come in handy when I'm waiting for a ride.
At the baseball game
I took this to a chilly baseball game and kept it on between innings. The faux suede body has a matte finish that doesn't look plastic. The stripe details look especially good when my sleeves are pushed up. I've been trying to buy fewer one-occasion clothes, and this seems easy to wear for plenty of regular plans.
Side pockets in the right spot
The side pockets are positioned where my hands naturally go when I'm waiting outside. The fabric feels pleasant for an afternoon of walking and sitting. I was happy the shade didn't look orange.
Waist sits differently
I put it on over a graphic tee for a quick trip to the bookstore. The lining is smooth over my long-sleeve shirts, which makes getting ready easier. The waistband hits higher than I had pictured.
My pick of the two
My friend and I both tried on varsity styles, and this was my pick. The front stays neat when I button only the middle snaps. My cream scarf and this brown have become a regular pairing.
Striped trim looks good
I like the way the striped collar looks against a plain white shirt. The jacket keeps its casual feel even with darker pants and boots. That warm tan color suits the faded denim I wear most.
Changed my mind on snaps
I don't usually buy snap-front outerwear, but I liked this particular layout. I prefer the softer body fabric to the stiff canvas varsity jackets I've owned. I actually wore a baseball cap with it and felt very relaxed. By the end of the afternoon, I was thinking more about where to get coffee than what I was wearing.
Not another denim jacket
I needed something for mild weather that wasn't another denim jacket. There's a comfortable amount of room at the shoulders for a thin sweater. I wore it with a moss green tee and liked the combination.
One note on the sleeves
I kept my transit card inside and didn't have to hunt through my backpack. The striped waistband doesn't stick out awkwardly over high-rise pants. The ribbed cuffs feel a bit close around my wrists.
A little short
My older varsity jacket is heavy, so I was looking for something lighter. I like how the textured body breaks up an otherwise plain outfit. The faux suede attracts some lint from my scarf.
Collar feels comfortable
I was hoping the striped ribbing wouldn't feel scratchy around my neck. The waistband gives the jacket some shape without squeezing my middle. I was happy the shade didn't look orange.
Easy birthday outfit
I threw this on for a casual birthday gathering without planning an outfit first. The sleeves give just enough contrast without needing any extra accessories. It looks especially nice next to my navy joggers.
No extra puffiness
I was worried a bomber would be too puffy through the middle. The cuffs stay put when I push my sleeves back to wash my hands. It makes my simple outfits look less repetitive on weekends. After a couple of hours sitting and walking, I hadn't spent any time adjusting the shoulders or pulling at the hem.
Favorite sleeve detail
My favorite part is the contrast at the sleeves, especially when the front is open. The color-blocking works with my old jeans and a plain crewneck. In daylight the body looks a little more golden.
The ribbed hem
The ribbed waistband sits where I want it instead of riding up immediately. The sleeves are easy to move in when I'm holding a grocery basket. I like the little bit of contrast visible at the cuffs. I'm not someone who plans outfits the night before, so anything that works with clothes I already own gets points.
Snap front takes practice
I wear wide-leg jeans a lot, so I liked the shorter ribbed hem. The ribbed collar sits comfortably around my neck even when I leave the top open. A bulky hoodie makes the shoulders feel a touch snug. The contrasting material gives it a different feel from denim. In daylight the body looks a little more golden.
