Straightforward cuffs
I bought it for days between the seasons. The buttoned cuffs are straightforward and don't catch on my watch. It's a simple thing, but useful.
A place for my phone
I tried wearing it open for a change. The dedicated phone pocket inside is handy when my hands are full. That suits me just fine.
Better than a high neck
The color was a big part of why I clicked on this jacket. The shirt-like collar works better for me than a high neck. The whole outfit worked without me changing anything else.
The shirt collar
I wore it on a fairly long drive over the weekend. The shirt collar makes it easy to wear open over a regular tee. The fabric needs a gentle brush after being folded in my bag.
The matte surface
I bought it for days between the seasons. The matte surface is what keeps me reaching for it. I don't need anything fancier than that.
Understated buttons
When I first tried this on, I spent more time looking at the shape than the color. It turned out to be an easy piece to wear with what I already own. The dark buttons keep the front looking simple. I wish the front buttons were slightly easier to fasten with cold hands.
All buttoned up
I put it on for a coffee run that turned into a couple of hours out. I like that the jacket feels casual even when everything is buttoned. Small things like that make a jacket pleasant to own.
Two types of pockets
My usual outfit is plain, and this was a nice way to change things up. The two different outer pocket styles are genuinely useful. Still, I would like the chest flaps to sit a little flatter.
Easy sleeve movement
I wore mine with a soft cotton tee. The sleeves let me move around without feeling like cardboard. So far, it's been a good pick.
Pleasant fabric
I wanted something that wouldn't feel out of place at a casual get together. It's nice to look ready without looking like I tried very hard. The surface feels pleasant under my hand without being slick. The sleeves feel a touch wide at the wrists on me. Overall, I'm glad I decided to try it.
Good with my jeans
I wasn't expecting to like this style. The hem falls in a way that suits my regular straight-leg jeans. That part really works for me.
Smooth lining
I wasn't sure about the material until trying it. The polyester lining slides over my long sleeves easily. I appreciate that more than I expected.
Panel stitching
I tried this with black pants first. The stitching across the panels adds a little structure to the front. No complaints from me so far.
No catching on flannel
I noticed this while getting dressed for dinner. The soft lining means it doesn't catch on flannel shirts. The whole thing felt easy to wear.
Lighter than denim
The part I keep looking at isn't even the main feature. The fabric feels lighter than the denim trucker I own. I appreciate having a simple option for evenings out.
Chest pockets lay flat
I wanted something between a shirt and a serious winter coat. The chest pockets sit flat instead of making the front bulky. Nothing about it felt awkward while I was out.
Soft matte faux suede
Changed out of work clothes but kept the jacket for dinner. The faux suede has a dry, soft feel rather than the shine of leather. For me, that makes more difference than extra decoration.
Old-school chest pockets
Wore it on a random weekday when I wasn't planning to dress up. The chest flap pockets remind me of older work jackets. I need to brush off lint more often than I do with denim.
Lower pockets
I spent most of Saturday walking between stores and meeting up with friends. I didn't want a heavy layer that I would be carrying around. The lower side pockets are more useful than I expected. I like this deeper brown with black denim better than I expected. I can see myself wearing it again next weekend.
Collar stays neat
The collar was the first thing I checked when I looked in the mirror. It's the small details near my face that usually decide whether I keep a jacket. The collar keeps a neat shape even when the top buttons are undone. It looks noticeably warmer than plain black without being loud. The dark buttons keep the front looking simple.
