Saved my outfit
Olive and warm brown boots turn out to be a really great combination. I threw the coat on over a denim skirt, and the outfit finally felt finished.
Room for a narrow scarf
The shirt-style collar leaves room for a narrow scarf without puffing up around my neck. I also like how it sits over a simple button-down. Comfortable through the shoulders when I'm walking to the station.
Better over lighter layers
A thin blouse fits comfortably underneath, but a thick knit makes the waist feel snug. I'll save this for lighter layers and office days instead of winter outings. The color itself is really lovely.
A few ways to wear it
I normally wear coats open, but this one looks nice with just the middle buttons fastened. The waist seams still give the front a little shape instead of making it look boxy. I tried it with a striped knit and ankle boots, then again with a plain blouse for work. Both felt natural, so it's getting plenty of use.
Mom wants one too
My mom borrowed this for brunch and immediately asked about the fabric. She liked the matte finish and the shape at the waist. Now she keeps hinting that she wants one too.
One coat, two plans
I wore this over black pants for a presentation, then swapped my shoes for sneakers afterward. The coat worked for both without needing a complete outfit change during a very busy workday.
Looks different in daylight
In bright sunlight you can see the soft texture of the faux suede, while indoors the finish looks more muted. I like that the green changes slightly with the light. It doesn't look shiny or too bright.
Pockets where I need them
My hands find the side pockets without any awkward reaching. They're at a comfortable height when I'm waiting at school pickup or heading out for a short walk, even with a tote over my shoulder.
Good for office days
The air conditioning at work seems to change every hour, so I wanted a lighter coat I could take on and off. This one goes over my office shirts without the sleeves catching. The collar also stays flat under my shoulder bag strap. My previous coat bunched up there constantly, and that got old fast.
Check the coat length
I'm fairly tall, so the coat falls a little higher than I expected from the photos. It still works with trousers and skirts, but I'd recommend checking the length measurement if you're tall too.
Watch-friendly cuffs
I wear a silver watch, and the open cuffs don't catch on it. Such a tiny detail, but getting dressed in the morning is less annoying.
Comfortable over short sleeves
I like that the polyester lining doesn't feel scratchy against my arms when I wear short sleeves. The outer fabric looks substantial, but the coat doesn't feel heavy indoors. Handy for days when the temperature keeps changing.
Unexpected scarf pairing
A dusty pink scarf looks realllly good against this green. I wouldn't have picked the pairing in a store, but I've worn it twice this week already with my denim jacket.
One coat for the weekend
I brought this on a weekend visit to my sister because I didn't want to pack two coats. It worked with boots for lunch and sneakers for our afternoon walks. The lining helped it slide over my sweater, and I could reach the side pockets without fussing with my bag. I'd pack it again for a similar trip.
Phone case makes a difference
My phone fits in the inside pocket, but its bulky case makes the space a little tight. I use a side pocket instead most days. Otherwise, the coat hangs nicely over cotton tops and lightweight sweaters.
No belt to fuss with
The buttons are easy to manage, even when I'm holding my coffee. No belt to tie or adjust, which helps on busy mornings when I'm running late and juggling my keys and phone.
Nice waist shaping
The seams at the waist give some shape without making me feel squeezed. I wore it with wide-leg trousers and didn't need to straighten the front every time I stood up. That matters more to me than fancy details.
A small maintenance note
The fabric picks up a little pet hair when I sit on the couch. A quick brush sorts it out, though, and I still love the muted olive shade.
Looks good buttoned or open
I wore this to a small art show, then kept it on for dinner afterward. The surface looks soft and muted, so it didn't compete with my printed blouse. I buttoned it for the walk there and left it open once we were inside. Both ways looked good in photos, which doesn't happen with every coat I own.
Better than another black coat
In my hallway the coat looks like a deep green, while outside it's more obviously olive. That's what I wanted instead of another black coat. The matte texture gives it a nice finish without catching too much attention.
