Turtleneck pairing
Didn't expect my plain turtleneck to look so different with this over it. Added earrings, left everything else alone. Sometimes the easiest outfit turns out to be the one you like most.
Between dinner venues
Chose this for a dinner where we’d be outside briefly between venues. Comfortable for that stretch with my knit top underneath. I liked keeping it on while everyone was chatting.
Early signs are good
Several outings in, the shape still looks tidy after hanging it up. I’m careful about storage, though. Haven’t owned it long enough to make any big claims about lasting wear.
Growing on me
Happier with it every time I put it on.
Different on each of us
My best friend and I have completely different tastes, but she wanted to try this when she visited. On her it looked relaxed; on me it looked more dressed up. Interesting how much the rest of an outfit changes things. We took a couple of silly mirror photos, then I wore it out that afternoon feeling rather pleased.
No heels needed
Wore it to brunch with slim trousers and ballet flats. Had worried it would only work with heels. Glad that wasn’t the case for the outfit I put together.
Helpful before ordering
Asked a question about the cut before ordering, since the shape was new to me. That helped set my expectations. Trying it at home still mattered, but I felt less uncertain.
Adjusted my scarf choice
It took me a couple of attempts to arrange a scarf without hiding the neckline. A thin one tucked close worked best. My usual oversized wrap was too much on me.
Started a lovely conversation
My grandmother used to wear capes, so this brought back a nice memory without looking like a costume on me. I wore it when visiting her, and she recognised the shape immediately. We ended up talking about clothes she’d owned years ago. That conversation wasn’t why I bought it, but it made the first outing unexpectedly special.
Felt good wearing it
Put it on and immediately stood a little straighter.
Accessories stayed visible
My bracelets weren’t hidden for once. Such a small thing, but I noticed it while holding my drink. Usually all that effort disappears beneath a sleeve.
A small style adventure
Went to a book reading alone and felt nicely dressed without feeling overdressed. I’m not usually adventurous with clothes. This was a manageable step outside my usual choices.
Found its place
I imagined wearing this everywhere, but after trying it with my backpack I realised it suits a different part of my life. For dinner, exhibitions and visiting friends, I really like it. For the days when I’m hauling a laptop and groceries, I’ll choose something else. Happy with the purchase now that I’m being realistic about when I’ll use it.
Enjoyed the first try-on
Opening the parcel was fun, but seeing it on was better. I stood there turning sideways for ages. Not something I normally do with a practical clothing purchase.
Simpler underneath
The first outfit I tried felt too busy. A narrow skirt and plain top worked much better. Once I simplified what was underneath, I could see why I’d chosen it.
Sleeves stay intact
Finally found outerwear that doesn’t fight my statement sleeves.
Concert night
Bought it to wear to a small concert where the venue can be chilly. I stayed comfortable during the interval outside, then folded it over my lap once seated. It was easier to manage than I’d expected, although I made sure nothing trailed into the aisle. Enjoyed having something a bit different for an evening I’d been looking forward to.
Loved the movement
Had a lovely moment catching the movement in a full-length mirror. It falls differently from anything else I own. That’s what persuaded me to keep it, more than the front view.
Better on calmer days
I liked it most on a calm, cool evening. With wind coming from the side, I wanted an extra layer underneath. Still useful, just something I’ll choose according to the forecast.
Changed the bag
A crossbody strap interrupted the shape more than I liked. Switched to a small handbag and was much happier. Worth trying different bags rather than assuming your everyday one will suit it.
