Settled after unpacking
Happy overall. There was a crease near the hem that distracted me at first, but after hanging it properly I stopped noticing it. Fits my needs.
After-event conversations
I wanted a coat I could leave on while chatting outside after an event. This did the job, and I didn’t feel bundled up in photographs.
Jeans made the difference
It looked a touch formal with my usual trousers. Swapped to jeans and liked it immediately. Amazing how one change can make something feel right.
Ordinary office days
Been wearing it for ordinary office days rather than saving it. A few weeks in, I’m still pleased. Too soon for any long-term verdict though.
Apparently we’re sharing
My daughter borrowed it for dinner and brought it back the next morning. Now we’re negotiating a borrowing arrangement. I bought it for myself, honestly.
Found my way to style it
I prefer it with my hair tied back and a small scarf. Otherwise there’s a bit too much happening around my face. Personal preference, obviously.
Better on than on the hanger
Wasn't sure about it on the hanger. Completely different once I put it on with proper shoes. Glad I didn’t judge it in my slippers.
Useful alongside my winter coat
Nice addition, but I’m keeping my heavier winter coat too. They suit different weather. This is the one I’d choose for lunch or an appointment.
Caught my reflection
My favourite detail is how it hangs when walking. I noticed that in a shop window, of all places. Didn’t look stiff or awkward.
Tried the whole outfit
Put it on with my glasses, handbag and usual shoes before deciding. Sounds silly, but I wanted to see the whole picture. It felt like me.
Anniversary outing
First outing was an anniversary meal. Felt comfortable all evening, including the walk back. I didn’t keep adjusting it, which is usually a good sign.
Should have measured the sleeves
I like it, though I wish I’d checked my sleeve measurement more carefully. A small turn at the cuff works for now. My mistake really.
Worked over a midi skirt
Wore it with a midi skirt and was pleased with the proportions. Sometimes longer layers fight each other on me; these worked together without fuss.
Didn’t settle for the first fit
The first size didn’t work across my chest. I could fasten it, but it didn’t hang how I wanted, and that would have bothered me every time I wore it. Went up a size rather than trying to convince myself it was fine. Much happier with the extra room, even with a slightly looser waist.
Best with lighter layers
Fits well with a thin layer underneath.
Beyond the original occasion
Honestly bought it for one dinner. Have already worn it to two other things. Nice to find it wasn’t such a specific purchase after all.
Getting used to the length
The length feels lovely outdoors but needs a little attention on stairs. I’m used to shorter jackets, so there was a small adjustment period.
Asked before ordering
I had a sizing question before ordering and appreciated getting an answer I could use rather than just being pointed back to the chart. Still measured at home, of course. The size I chose worked with my normal layers. I’d recommend doing that bit of homework rather than assuming every brand fits alike.
Mum’s reaction
Mum said it looked like something I’d had tailored.
A practical first try-on
Packaging was tidy, although I was more interested in the fit. Tried it straight away with the clothes I actually planned to wear underneath.
